All about me
William “Liam” McFarlane is a Canadian mountain bike racer from Collingwood, Ontario, competing in Cross Country Olympic (XCO) and Short Track (XCC) with Collingwood Collective Racing.
The 2025 U17 Canadian XCO Champion, Liam now races in the Junior category and was selected to represent Canada on the 2026 Junior World Cup Project, competing internationally in Europe.
He balances high-performance racing with a hybrid academic program through Collingwood Collegiate Institute and Blyth Academy Online, while continuing to give back through youth coaching and support of the local cycling community.

Liam is stepping into Junior (U19) racing in 2026. This is a level where competition, travel, and expectations increase significantly. Over the past two seasons, he has progressed steadily across mountain bike, cyclocross, and gravel, racing both nationally and internationally, confirming he is ready for this next step. His recent time racing and training in Europe reinforced both how far he has come and how much opportunity lies ahead.
